Service Activities of the Month of July 2015


On July 13th 2015, International Director from Norway, ID Svein Bernben visited Kampala Host Club. He gave out awards to Ln Night, the IPDG for leading the way for women in Lionism and Lion Mutayisa for his role in Eye care. He awarded the club a certificate of appreciation in recognition of the club activity at the Kampala School of Handicapped Children.

On 04th July 2015, Lions Club of Mbarara Central held Town cleaning activity at Rwebikoona Ward, Kamukuzi Division, Mbarara Municipality.This involved Sweeping and collecting garbage from the town center which was later dumped in the municipality garbage collection Center. Indeed it was a successful activity since hygiene and sanitation was promoted.

On 10th July 2015, Lions Club of Tanga donated food items to Moa Village in Mkinga District of Tanga. Items consisted of Wheat flour, Sugar, Dates, Cooking Oil and Beans for "Iftaar" during Ramadhan.

On 11th July, 2015, Lions of Ntungamo - Uganda organised a run for water marathon at Ntungamo High to install water pumps to help the school access clean water.

On 5th July 2015, Lions Club of Mwanza Victoria jointly with Sister Clubs from Mwanza City carried out an activity in Shinyanga and donated 100 school desks to Town Primary School. Town Primary School was founded in 1942 as a middle school and today has 1064 students, of which 489 are boys and 527 are girls, and 25 teachers. The school has had a good track record of Standard 7 graduates attaining top 10 position in producing high percentage of passes of Tanzania National Examinations:
2010 - 85%, 2011 - 88%, 2012 - 92%, 2013 - 95%, 2014 - 96%.

On 14th July, 2015 Mpondwe Lhubiriha Lions Club is organising an eye camp at Bwera Hospital to be carried out in September 2015. In this bid, the club organised a fundraising to raise funds for the camp. 544,000/- uganda shillings was raised in in one drive.

On 11th July 2015, Lions Club of Dar es salaam Azania joined IMTU Hospital in providing free medical consultation and medical advise to anyone that came for the service. check up on diabetes, hypertension, malaria, HB counts, and other diseases were tested for and free medicine was provided for free.

On 10th July 2015, Lions Club of Bushenyi organised medical camp in which 400 people were screen for different ailments including diabetes, eye diseases, malaria and dental related problems and medication given to those who were found sick.
