July Service Activities

On 29th July 2015, Lion Members of the Busia Greater club moved around some schools to educate on the dangers of HIV/Aids and early pregnancies since most of the youths in the region are becoming victims due to lack of information.

On 16th July 2015, Lions Club of Dar es Salaam Amani during Holy month of Ramadan Club distributed new clothes named KANGA among widows and food like Sembe,Sugar,Rice,Maharagi and cooking oil distributed to poor people in Kisutu,City centre area.

On 21st July 2015, The Lions of Kampala Central Joined Fellow Lions of Kampala Host and Iganga in the Mobilisation for elimination of trachoma in the Busoga and Karamoja Regions. Lions Yese Mubangizi and Emelda Twongyeirwe represented the The Lions of Kampala Central on the team.The campaign which lasted two days saw the team camp at four Health Centres, asses the mobilisation effort of the Lions Club of Iganga. Free eye Screening, provision of drugs, trachoma management surgeries were carried out in all the four centres. Cataract surgeries were refered to Jinja Hospital.

Members of lions club of kabale on 24th July 2015 equipped members of the community on how to make soap using the available local materials as a way to boost their household income.

The President and members of the Lions Club of Gulu Metropolitan participated in the activity of sensitization training of youth for LEO Club formation at Gulu Primary School Blind Annex; 25 pupils were trained by four members of the Lions Club on; Saturday 25th July, 2015, A Lions Centennial Service activity. On the Day 25th July, 2015, The Lions Club of Gulu Metropolitan, represented by the Club President, Ms Lion Hellen Lawino, Lion Dr. Loum Constantine, IPP and other club members trained 25 pupils as the initial stem to form an Alpha LEO Club in the school. The Headteacher and another teacher with their pupils were present to witness the occasion. The activity saw the participation of Lion Geoff Walker of Greytown Lions Club in New Zealand who is now resident in Gulu. The outcome was that the pupils were very excited by the support of the Lions Club in teaching the pupils the formation of the LEO club; more training are still planned until the LEO Club is formed.

On 11th July 2015, Lions and Leos of LionsClub Entebbe donated to Entebbe School for Disabled : 2 boxes safi juicebottle,5 litres of juice, sachets of biscuits, 3 doz exercise, 2 doz pencils, 24 toilet papers, 4 bread, 3kg sweets, 5 kg sugar.
