September Activities!

Lions Club of Arua had a training workshop on 12th September 2015 to sensitize district leaders and Lions from the Districts of Northern Uganda; areas heavily affected by river blindness to empower them to carry out community sensitization on prevention and control of onchocerciasis. One member of Lions Club of Arua was among the trainer and six members attended as participants.

On 11.09.2015, Lions of Kampala Central in Partnership with the Aga-Khan Foundation donated a Consignment of books to Makerere Primary School and spent the afternoon reading story books for the Primary school Kids and in turn listening to them read. Also donated was a metalic cabin in which the books shall be kept.

On 06.09.2015, Lions of Moshi Kibo along with families visited the children after the fire disaster to console the children by playing with them and also taking for them food stuff, sweets, chocolates , biscuits, juices, and many more.

On 12.09.2015, Lions of Mbarara offered several items to the blind children including toothpaste, Vaseline, sanitary pads, manila papers and laundry soap.

On 08.09.2015, Lions of Kampala Central called on a family in Abim town Council where a member, a young lawyer had been murdered in cold blood. The lions attended the burial ceremony, laid a wreath and comforted the family and contributed towards the funeral expenses.
