In preparation for the forthcoming Trachoma surgery activity due in Karamoja Uganda , Lions have had an opportunity to visit the Local Government to explain about Trachoma and the forthcoming activity of surgery.
Lions were afforded the opportunity to address the District council of Abim District on 7th September, 2015. Lions then had an advocacy and sensitization meeting with key stakeholders in preparation for the activity. A radio talk show was conducted to drum up the forthcoming activity. This was followed by visits to the lower local governments, health center's and schools . A public address system was in use to pass the message to the people.
Participating in the activity was immediate Past District Governor Lion Night Nyarugahi. Lion Polly Ndyarugahi and members of the Project management committee with other Lions from Kampala, Soroti and Kumi Lions Clubs.
One patient came to the venue of the meeting as assign of willingness to undertake the surgery.
